Francis Jacobs enlisted in the Army on 30 November 1942 in Rochester, New York. He died of wounds suffered November 6 in Germany. He was hospitalized and passed away in Belgium, November 8, 1944.
He attended Victor High School and later worked for the Victor Insulating Corporation before enlisting in the Army. After training in Louisiana, Florida and Virginia he was sent to England in October, 1943.
During his overseas service of more than a year he had been on duty in England, France and Germany as a member of an infantry unit with the First army. Promoted to staff sergeant two months ago, he was awarded the Combat Infantry Medal.
