Pvt William G. Jegen graduated from high school and worked at the Ford Motor Company.He enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 21 March 1944.
His father died when he was 1 year old. His half- brother Dallis Drake was killed in action in Normandy and is buried at the Normandy American Military Cemetery.
