Pfc Everette T. Burns graduated from Beech Hill High School and was employed at the General Shoe Company.

He enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 7 May 1943.

He was taken prisoner of war and died of injuries in Germany.

Pfc Burns is also remembered at the Giles Memory Garden, Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee.
