1st Lt Charles L. Dixon was employed by the Travelers Fire Insurance Company.

He enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 11 March 1941, trained at Camp Wheeler, Georgia and was commissioned in December 1942, following completion of OCS at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was sent overseas in December 1943.
