Pvt Bernard R. Kadlec was employed as a driver for the Scotland Produce Company and taught children at rural schools. He enlisted on 26 March 1942 and was sent overseas in February of 1944.He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy on 2 September 1944.
