Pvt Lawrence P. Burkett was a carpenter before he enlisted in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 3 April 1944.Pvt Burkett's remains have been recovered and identified. He was given his final resting place on 16 June 2007 in Jefferson, Ashe County, North Carolina.
