S/Sgt Alfred F. Kahlmorgan attended Central High School and worked for a company that produced rubber goods.

He enlisted in Toledo, Ohio on 25 August 1943 and was sent overseas on 15 September 1944.

He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy on 2 September 1944.
