Pfc Roberto L. Lopez worked on a farm before he enlisted in Los Angeles, California on 22 July 1943.

He was awarded the Silver Star Medal posthumously for gallantry in action against an armed enemy while serving with the Medical Detachment on 11 October 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
