Pvt Francis Archambeault enlisted in Manchester, New Hampshire on 9 November 1943.

He attended Newmarket schools and entered the service in the fall of 1943. He received training at Fort Devens, Massachusetts and Camp Butner, North Carolina. After going overseas in the summer of 1944, he was stationed somewhere in Scotland, before going to Germany. His brother, Felix, was stationed in France.
