Sgt Robert C. Chesnut attended high school for 2 years and was a cook before he enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 5 November 1943.
He was seriously wounded in action in Luxembourg on 29 December 1944 and died of his wounds the next day.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand Failly, France.
