Sgt Eugene F. Nolan attended Father Ryan High School and was employed as a retail manager before he enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 28 May 1941.

Sgt Noland was reported wounded in action in France on 10 July 1944 and rejoined his outfit on 5 August 1944 after being released from the hospital.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Fosse, Belgium.
