Sgt Donald R. Pallo attended high school for 3 years and was a painter before he joined the National Guard in Ann Arbor, Michigan on 15 October 1940.

He was officially declared death one year and one day after he went missing and was presumed dead. At that time his unit was fighting in the vicinity of Sellerich. His remains are to date never recovered.
