Pfc Jack S. Newton graduated from Westinghouse High School, he worked for the Union Switch and Signal Co. before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 13 November 1943.He was sent overseas in July 1944 and was reported seriously wounded in action 9 August 1944. He had returning to duty nine days before he was killed.
