More information

Lawrence Curtis enlisted in November 1943 and was sent overseas six months later.

He was killed by small arms fire in the head.

Pfc was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 17 February 1945 and was given his final resting place on 2 August 1948.

His nephew, Paul, shared these words: "Uncle Libby was a family man who loved helping on the family farm. He loved nature, his animals on the farm, and his dog. He also loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and just being with his family. Libby enjoyed hunting whitetail deer and was a fantastic shot. He was known for always hitting what he aimed at no matter the distance or situation. Our family is very proud of him."
