T/Sgt Charles H. Stone enlisted in Detroit, Michigan on 4 September 1940 and was sent overseas in November 1943.He died on 10 September 1944 of wounds suffered 25 August 1944 in the vicinity of Corbeil while establishing a bridgehead across the Seine river and protect the construction of a Treadway bridge.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.
