Pfc John Benich was a cabinet maker.

He enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 2 June 1941.

He was killed by shrapnel in the back.

Pfc Benich was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 25 November 1944. He was given his final resting place on 30 June 1948.

One of the picturse shows his temporary grave with a wooden cross before the cemetery became his permanent status.
