T/Sgt Troy Brown worked on a farm before he joined the Regular Army in Lincolnton, North Carolina in 20 November 1940.The picture was taken during a visit to his grave by his niece, Mrs. Savell in 2004.
According to his great grandson, Cory Roberts, his grandmother, Sharon Brown, was born in December 1944, a month after T/Sgt Brown was killed. he never knew she was pregnant.
