1st Lt. James C. Curtis graduated from Versailles High School and from Transylvania College in 1935. He also attended the Juillard School of Music in New York City and was an accomplished tenor, organist and pianist.He was overseas since September 1943 and first served in Iceland, before he was sent to England. He participated in the entire campaign of his unit through France and Belgium.
His daughter, who he had never seen, was only 16 months old when Lt Curtis was killed.
Pictures were taken in high school in 1928 and at college in 1935.
