Pvt Dalton M. Thomas was employed as a machinist at Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company.

He enlisted on 30 March 1943 at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio. He attended Lehigh University in the Army Specialized Training Program and received his basic training at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. He was sent overseas in October 1944.

He was killed when a mortar shell landed near his foxhole.
