After enlisting Pvt Harold J. Mallini was sent to Lehigh university where he was stationed as part of the ASTP-Army Specialized Training Program. Then in anticipation of D-Day he was re-assigned along with most of the ASTPs to infantry service. He trained at Camp Claiborne before going overseas.He is remembered at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery Dickson, Galveston County, Texas.
