T/Sgt Moore joined the Regular Army in July 1939 and serviced in Hawaii for two years. He was later transferred to Camp Blanding, Florida and Camp Atterbury, Indiana. He was sent to Europe in February 1943 and was wounded on 26 June 1944. He returned to his unit on 31 October 1944.
