Pvt Warren P. Spayd was employed at the Berkshire Knitting Mills. He was also the organist at Bern Church and Shalter's Church.

He enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 1 December 1943.

Pvt. Spayd spoke fluent German and was often used to debrief German POW’s.

Warren Spayd is remembered at the Eplers Church Cemetery in Leesport, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
