Pfc Joseph L. Geise enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 17 November 1943 and was sent overseas in July 1944.

He was reported wounded in action for the first time on 4 October 1944.

On 25 December 1944, in Malmedy, he was wounded in action for the second time. He died six days later.
