S/Sgt William J. Harris enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 30 December 1942.S/Sgt Harris was wounded by a grenade on 6 August in France and returned to duty several weeks later. He was reported missing in action in Germany on 8 October and returned to his company seven days later. He was reported missing again on 29 November 1944.
