Cpl Wasil Moskaluk enlisted into the Regular Army on 23 October 1933 and was honorably discharged on 22 October 1936. He rejoined the Regular Army on 23 October 1939.

According to an autopsy report, Cpl Moskaluk died of a methyl alcohol poisoning. The report also states there was no tangible evidence to link his death with any unauthorized conduct or actions on his part.

At the time of his death he was detached from his unit with some other members of his company to guard German POW's.
