Pfc Russell A. Moller graduated from Petaluma High School in 1941 where he played on the football team. He worked on the Moller ranch which consisted of a dairy and poultry operation along with farming producing feed for the livestock and potatoes to sell.

Both his parents were born in Germany and emigrated to the U.S. in 1890.
