Pfc William V. Scholl was employed at the New York Central Railroad.

He enlisted in Utica, New York on 22 February 1943 and joined his unit from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on 31 December 1944.

He was wounded in action in Ottré, Belgium, placed on the back of a tank, fell off and was run over by another tank.
