Pfc Nicholas Skirchak attended high school for four years and was a mechanic.

He enlisted in New Haven, Connecticut on 10 March 1943.

He was wounded on 15 August 1944 and 26 September 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal twice.
