1st Lt Kingston H. Mote attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

He enlisted on 30 January 1943 in Columbus, Ohio.

He was awarded the Soldier's Medal for heroism during a fire at Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky.

He was reported lightly wounded in action on 13 June 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time. After recovering he rejoined his unit.
