The family moved to Ramona, South Dakota around 1920, where Edmund Timmons attended Ramona High School for three years. He went to work for the Milwaukee Railroad, where his father was the Section Foreman. He married Dorothy Schwartz in Sioux Falls on September 21, 1937.He enlisted as a private in the Army in January of 1944, and reported to Ft. Snelling, Minnesota for active duty in early February. He received all of his formal training at Ft. McClellan, Alaska.
He is remembered at the Saint William Church Cemetery in Ramona, Lake County, South Dakota.
