Pfc Vincent J. Blackwell joined the US Army Reserve in Indianapolis, Indiana on 16 March 1943. A life resident of Indianapolis, Pvt Blackwell attended Joan of Arc grade school and was a graduate of Cathedral High School. He had been overseas four months. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
