Capt Jack E. Golden attended Seymour High School before graduating from Texas A&M in 1942. He was killed by a sniper weeks before VE Day.

Capt Jack E. Golden was awarded the Silver Star twice for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action, the second time for actions against the enemy on 31 July 1944 in Normandy, France.
