More information

His niece, Mrs. Rebecca White Becker, shared the following story with us: "Charles White was my uncle. He was born June 21, 1920. He was born and grew up on a dairy farm in the state of Minnesota. In high school he was part of a group of boys who hung out together. When the US entered WWII all the boys in this “gang” enlisted in various branches of the military. They started a round robin letter to keep in touch and decided to meet again annually after the war. Charlie was the only one who died in the war. The gang met after the war & started the Charles R. White memorial Scholatship given to a graduating senior from their high school, Marshall High School. In the last few years, the last of the gang has died, but the scholarship lives on."
