Pvt Clyde A. O'Neal enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 18 January 1943 and took his basic training at Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was later sent to Drew Field, Tampa in Florida. From Drew Field he went to De Ridder, Louisian, and then to Camp Livingston, Louisiana where he underwent six months training in the infantry. He was sent to Fort Meade in Maryland on 4 February 1945 leaving for overseas duty on 17 February. He landed in Belgium on 1 March 1945.On the picture he poses with his sister Bertha.
