Pfc Reed Cory enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 22 September 1943.A graduate of Valley Mills High School, Pfc Cory was associated with his father in the contracting business a number of years. He went overseas in January, 1944. He landed in Normandy on D-day and, with exception of a month spent in a hospital resting after nervous strain, he was on combat duty until the day he was killed.
