2nd Lt Clifford Lauder graduated from Charleroi High School in 1938 and from Penn State in 1942.He enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 31 October 1942. He was sent overseas in April 1944. He was reported wounded in action in Normandy on 1 August 1944 and evacuated to England to recover.
He was one of three sons who were stationed overseas. Sgt David H. Lauder was stationed somewhere in the Central Pacific area, Cpl John L. Lauder was stationed in England.
