Pvt Arthur C. Isken was employed in the detonator department of Western Cartridge Co. in East Alton.

He enlisted in February 1944 and received basic training at Camp Blanding, Floridaa. and was sent overseas in August 1944

Pvt Isken was killed by machine gun fire. at that time his remains couldn't be recoverd.

Fifty-five years after he died his dog tags were found during a construction project in 1985. A subsequent search found bones that were later identified as those of Pvt Isken. The DNA matched with the DNA from one of his relatives.

Pfc Arthur C. Isken was buried at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bethalto, Madison County, Illinois.
