Pfc Ernest M. Maness worked in a kitchen.He enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 8 April 1942.
Pfc Maness wrote the following on the bakc of this picture before sending it home: "This is a sign my outfit put up on the first day we enter Cologne. And we were the first unit there and on to the Rhine. On March 4 & 5. We can do it if we haft (have) to."
