More information

Pfc Everett L. Green worked in the logging industry before he enlisted in Bangor, Maine on 30 March 1943.

He was wounded in action in July 1944 and, after recovering, rejoined his unit in August 1944.

He was reported wounded in action on 31 July 1944. For this wound he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.

Although his mother Bessie originally wanted him repatriated for burial in Maine, she ultimately changed her mind, deciding it would be best if he was with his comrades.
