Sgt Jackson had been serving overseas since November 1943 with General Patton“s 3rd Army. Sgt Harold V. Jackson enlisted in Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 2 November 1942 and received basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. He later trained in Arizona desert and at Camp Freest, Tennessee. Previous to entering the service he was employed by Crocker Burgank and Co.
