Cpl Kenneth E. Ames enlisted in Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 4 February 1942. He was a chauffeur before he enlisted.

He was killed by sharpnel in the head.

He was first buried at block XXX, row 4, grave 62. He was disinterred on 25 November 1947 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 3 December 1947. He was given his final resting place on 19 July 1949.
