2nd Lt Albert S. Wetherell enlisted in Manchester, New Hampshire on 30 July 1942.
He was graduated from Exeter high school. He was active as a boy scout leader before entering the service. He received his training at Camp Hood, Texas and Camp Wheeler, Georgia and had been in an anti-tank corps before being transferred to the infantry.
