S/Sgt William J. Tuschinski enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 12 May 1942. Wounded on July 12 and twice on August 16, he returned to duty on 10 November after recovering in a hospital in England.Before going into the Army in May, 1942, he was employed at the Wilmington Shops of the DuPont Company. After receiving training at Camp Croft and being stationed at several camps, he went overseas in October 1943. He was stationed in Ireland before going to France.
He attended St. Hedwig's Parochial School.
