Sgt Elmer M. Miller enlisted in Camp Perry Lacarne, Ohio on 31 March 1943.

He attended high school for 4 years and worked on a farm before he enlisted. He received his training at Camp Blanding, Florida; Camp Robinson, Arkansas and Camp Rucker, Alabama and went overseas in July 1944.
