T/4 Gordon R. Dean attended Norfolk High School.He enlisted in Lake Wales, Florida on 18 April 1939.
A brother, Lt. Robert Dean, was reported wounded in action on 10 December 1944. Another brother, Pvt Charles Dean, served with the U.S. Marine Corps, probably on Iwo Jima.
