Pvt Ernest P. Caminer graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School (San Antonio) in 1942 and attended the University of Texas.He traveled to the U.S. with his brother Hans, where they arrived on 31 December 1940. Their parents came to the U.S from Grenoble, France through Portugal on 10 March 1941. They where Hebrew therefore fled Germany.
Pvt Caminer was drafted on 30 June 1942.
