Pvt Antone Botelho enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 17 January 1944.

He would have been in the army one year on 7 February. Overseas for the past six months the local man first completed his Army training at an Illinois camp. As a civilian he was employed at the Torpedo Station, Newport.
