More information

Orville J. Hunt worked in a grain mill.

He joined the Regular Army in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 30 September 1940.

Pfc Hunt was wounded in action by shrapnel. It is thought that he was evacuated to the west side of the Moselle River but no report exists that would indicate this. A thorough search of the area occupied by G Company was made for Pfc Hunt but he could not be found.

Pfc Hunt was declared officially dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action. At that time the 11th Infantry Regiment was engaged in the fighting in the vicinity of the Dornot Bridgehead.
