Pfc Ivey Walker was sentenced for assault to murder in 1935 and paroled in 1937.

He worked on a farm before he enlisted in the Regular Army at Ft. McPherson, Georgia on 20 October 1941.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.
