Pvt Joseph L. Grossman attended college for two years and was employed at the Duradene Company Inc before he joined the U.S. Army Reserve at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland on 16 February 1943.He was officially declared dead one year and one day after he was reported missing in action. At that time his unit was fighting in the vicinity of Nancy.
